Step 1- Trademark Search

Trademark Search is a very important step before applying for a trademark registration. This is because during the trademark registration we should have a little bit knowledge that already same brand name or similar brand name trademark is registered or not. Trademark Search is very simple and you have to just go to Trademark Public Search and enter your Trademark class of the category and enter your proposed trademark name. You will get the results that the trademark is already registered in India or not.

Step 2- Filing of application: –

Trademarks Registration Application can be filed both online and offline. If we prepare the application online, then we have to file in the prescribed manner and also pay the required fees.

Step 3-Examination of the filed application: –

After Filing of the Application, the government department checks that if already any trademark is registered or not on the same brand name and examination reports are issued by the officers.

Step 4- Publication of the Trademark: –

After examination of reports if there is no such issue then the Government of India issues the brand name in the Trademark Journals.

Step 5- Trademark Registration:-

Once there are no objections or oppositions for the trademark registration application, the trademark manuscript and trademark registration certificate will be prepared and sent to the trademark applicant. Once the trademark registration certificate is issued, the trademark is considered to be a registered trademark of the owner, granting the trademark owner exclusive use of the mark.
