Digital Signature

Digital Signature (DS) is a physical signature in an electronic format.Digital Signatures are used in India for online transactions such as Filing Annual Return, Company or LLP Incorporation, Income Tax E-Filing, E-Tenders, etc. It has also be noted that now use of digital signature became the statutory requirement in various applications.Digital Signature is not only authenticating an individual’s identity, but also guarantee the validity of the information attached to the signature. There are 3 types of Digital Signatures, Class I, Class II and Class III Digital Signatures.

Class I Digital Signature is used for securing email communications.  It validates the user’s name and email address of the user from an explicit subject name within the certifying authority repository.

Class II digital signature used by private individuals as well as business personnel where there are moderate risks and incidences of data compromise. Generally, it is utilized for company registrations, IT Return E-filing, Obtaining DIN, DPIN etc. You can submit your application for Class II digital signature with supporting documents before the registering authority. This process can be online or offline and no physical appearance have necessary. However, documents have to prove the identity of the individual.

Class III digital signature used by Class 3 DSCs are issued to organizations, individuals and servers where high level of security is needed. Generally, it is utilized registration are used for E-tendering and participating in E-Auctions.  As per application requirements the private key and the matching public key incorporated in the Class 3 certificate must be generated and preserved in a secured manner.

Digital signature certificate are stored in a secure USB Flash Drive that is called E-Token.
